Philosophy & Values

We are ocean lovers passionate about taking care of and protecting our seas. We strive to limit our environmental impact as much as possible, and enjoy sharing with our guests knowledge about marine ecology, as well as the threats that our oceans face. We partner with local organizations that share this philosophy. Coral Eye Resort is actively working on a range of conservation projects around North Sulawesi.

A typical day

9:00 Free-diving session. We stay in the water for up to two hours 13:00 Lunch

After lunch we give you a chance to rest and relax. The afternoon activities are all optional. You can choose between kayaking to the nearby mangrove or to a private beach, snorkeling on the house reef, practicing acro or fly high yoga with our guides, joining us for live music, game and movie nights, making a bonfire on the beach or going for a massage. We are also including a few seminars as part of the retreat and an introduction to pranayama, mindfulness and meditation. Marine ecology & threats and conservation projects will also be subjects we touch on. Besides that we are also doing two boat expeditions to explore the nearby beaches, reefs and hills. There is a possibility to add more trips depending on the groups wishes and participation. You can of course also choose to be lazy and just enjoy your surroundings from a beach chair.

Yoga

Enjoy a daily dose of yang with a splash of yin—all before breakfast. Each morning we offer a yoga-flow combining asana, pranayama breathing, and meditation. Our yoga shala overlooks the white sandy beaches of Bangka, with the backdrop of a sky blue horizon. You’ll find yourself calmed by the rhythmic sounds of the waves against the shore. Carefully tailored to each group, these morning sessions are designed to prepare your mind, body for our daily free-diving excursions.

Aqua Viva Bodywork

With origins in Watsu (WATer shiatSU), Liquide Flow Essence and Water Healing Dance our therapist offers a form of aquatic bodywork that allows for deep relaxation. During this practice, you will be gently guided through the water. Each one-on-one session invites spontaneous healing through intuitive movements all dictated by the constant motion of the sea.

Freediving

Free-diving is a unique and transformative encounter with the ocean and oneself. Free-divers may experience a sensation of expansion, flying, gliding and weightlessness. Each dive is a unique and exhilarating meditative experience.

The practice of holding your breath under water is an opportunity to find inner strength and overcome personal fears.

We provide both newcomers and more experienced divers a safe and supportive environment for their practice.

In our programs, from basic to advanced, we will discuss the art and science of breath hold diving. By understanding the physics and physiology of free-diving, you will gain greater comfort and confidence in the water. Simultaneously, we will work on your technique, increasing your ability to dive deeper.

We offer certifications from the Molchanovs Education System.
