Bunaken marine park

 
 

Located in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, Bunaken Marine National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its incredible marine biodiversity and stunning underwater topography. The park which is located in the most biodiverse corner of the world: In the heart of the Coral Triangle.

The park is famous for its steep coral walls up to 800 meters deep which allows you to experience bigger creatures from the deep which come up to hunt smaller animals.

Did we mention turtles ? - If you snorkel or dive doesn't matter - you have a chance to be surrounded by these gentle creatures - sometimes it feels like wherever you watch there are turtles flying by.

Departure from Bangka Island

We are leaving our beautiful resort early to start on a wonderful day trip in the Bunaken National Park.  
Briefing on the day’s schedule, safety protocols, and equipment check.
Depart for Bunaken National Park (approx. 90 minutes).
Enjoy the calm sea in the morning and prepare what's waiting for you.
During the journey you might see pods of dolphins or even whales so keep your eyes focused in the blue.

FIRST DIVE
Exploring Lekuan 2

One of Bunaken’s most iconic dive sites, Lekuan 2 offers a dramatic vertical coral wall adorned with hard and soft corals, sponges, and gorgonian sea fans. It is home to large green turtles, schools of reef fish, and occasional sightings of reef sharks and eagle rays. Visibility here is typically excellent, allowing for breathtaking views of the underwater terrain.

SURFACE INTERVAL 

Relax on the boat with snacks, refreshments, and a brief dive debrief.
You might catch a glimpse on some dolphins nearby during the transfer to the new location.

SECOND DIVE
Discovering Bunaken Timur

Known for its steep wall and stunning coral diversity, Bunaken Timur (East Bunaken) is a fantastic site for spotting a mix of macro and pelagic species. The site is home to vibrant reef fish, nudibranchs, and turtles, with the occasional appearance of eagle rays or barracudas.   

 

Midday
Lunch at Siladen Resort

Enjoy a delicious meal at Siladen Resort & Spa, our luxurious sister resort located on the serene island of Siladen. The resort is nestled on a white sandy beach and offers breathtaking views of Bunaken Marine Park.

Known for its focus on eco-tourism and personalized hospitality, Siladen Resort features sustainable practices and a tranquil environment that perfectly complements your diving adventure.

Relax and recharge with fresh, locally inspired dishes in a tropical paradise setting, making this midday break an unforgettable experience.

There is also a little gift shop if you want to get some souvenirs from the trip.

THIRD DIVE
Encounter at Siladen Jetty 

Located just outside the resort, Siladen Jetty is often regarded as one of the best dive and snorkelling sites within Bunaken Marine Park. This site offers a unique diving experience beneath Siladen Resort’s jetty. The beautiful wall and artificial structures attract a diverse range of marine life, making it an excellent spot for both macro photography.
Expect to see critters like ghost pipefish, lesser known nudibranchs, as well as schooling fish and the occasional passing eagle ray. 

 

03:30 PM
Return Journey to Bangka Island

Depart Bunaken with a big smile on your face.
Enjoy the scenic boat ride back, with a chance to spot surface marine life such as dolphins in the setting sun.

 

05:00 PM
Arrive at Bangka Island

Conclude the trip and return to the Coral Eye Resort where you can share your stories and photos with our guests.

Setting Sail to the "Dark Side of the Moon"

Departure from Bangka Islands
 


Embark on your adventure after enjoying a hearty breakfast at the resort. As you set sail for Lembeh Strait, keep watch for the occasional sighting of whales or dolphins that grace these waters.

9:00 AM
Dive at Hairball
 

Descend into the mesmerizing world of Hairball, known for its black sand slopes and peculiar critters. Here, you may encounter the flamboyant cuttlefish flaunting their vibrant colors, frogfish perfectly camouflaged against the sandy bottom, and the elusive mimic octopus showcasing its remarkable ability to imitate other marine creatures. This dive site is for lovers of very rare critters who thrive in the low visibility and dark sands of Lembeh Strait.

Dive at Aer Bajo
 

Explore the depths of Aer Bajo, a hotspot for macro photography enthusiasts. Look out for the enchanting wonderpus with its graceful movements, the cryptic rhinopias blending seamlessly into their surroundings, and the tiny hairy octopus peeking out from coral crevices. This site promises encounters with some of the most unique and captivating critters in Lembeh Strait.

Lunch at Solitude Resort

After your morning dives, arrive at Solitude Resort for a delicious à la carte lunch featuring local Indonesian flavors. Take time to relax and share your underwater sightings and stories with fellow divers.

Dive at TK
 

Conclude your diving adventure with a visit to TK, where the marine life diversity continues to amaze. Marvel at the delicate pygmy seahorses clinging to sea fans, observe ghost pipefish swaying gently in the currents, and search for the rare blue-ringed octopus cautiously navigating the sandy seabed. The intricate ecosystems of TK offer a final glimpse into the wonders of Lembeh Strait.

Return Journey to Bangka Islands
 
After an exhilarating day of diving and unforgettable encounters, cruise back to Bangka. Reflect on the day's underwater marvels and enjoy the scenic views of Lembeh Strait one last time.
